RENE CARSON

Rene is an experienced attorney and executive who has served as chief legal and compliance officer for numerous start-up enterprises, as well as large Wall Street firms. Rene’s passion is helping clients in highly regulated industries prosper and grow. Rene is also deeply committed to principles of social justice and economic fairness, which are core values underlying everything that Perception Farms does. Rene grew up in the glorious state of Wyoming — home to Devil’s Tower, prairie dogs, and the infamous jackalope - and currently lives in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Rene graduated with honors from New York University School of Law.

Rene has served as a law clerk on the prestigious United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. She then joined the international law firm of Sidley Austin, where she became partner, focusing her practice on regulated financial services and litigation. After leaving private practice, Rene became General Counsel and Global Head of Compliance for INTL FCStone (NASDAQ: INTL), a publicly traded, diversified financial services company with numerous regulated subsidiaries and offices around the globe. She has since served as the chief legal officer and head of compliance for numerous start-ups that focus on using technology to fundamentally change the way business is done in the energy, financial services, retail merchandising, and banking spaces.
